Theft of MORPHO Tokens
ZachXBT, a blockchain investigator, disclosed on October 21 that two addresses associated with an institution were hacked, leading to the theft of 973,000 MORPHO tokens worth around $2.3 million. The stolen assets were subsequently funneled into Tornado Cash.
Both affected addresses were linked to EIP-7702 account delegation transactions. Notably, one of the compromised addresses had previously experienced a theft on October 9, where approximately $3.5 million was lost. This earlier incident involved assets from an old cross-chain bridge, which were transferred from Ethereum to Zcash via NEAR Intents and ended up in the Ironwood privacy pool.
Additionally, ZachXBT pointed out that the compromised address has potential on-chain connections to an address suspected to belong to Nima Capital.
